About the blog
I should have done this much sooner, but a friend finally convinced me that it’s time. I’m writing this blog to vent my frustration at the level of dialog on health care reform right now. I’m also doing it so I finally will have somewhere to point when people ask me, “where can I look up this stuff about (fill in the blank)?” You can look it up here. It may take some time to add links to pertinent topics, but I promise to keep adding stuff.
I don’t claim to be an expert on everything, and when I’m giving you my opinion, I will make that clear. When I’m stating conclusions based on evidence and facts, I will link to them. I’m not expecting you to believe everything I say just because I said it. Go look it up. Decide for yourself.
A few groundrules:
- There will be no comment sections. I have no wish to see this blog turn into a partisan fight, and I don’t have the time to moderate all comments. I really do have a full time job.
- No anecdotes. Please don’t tell me about Janine, your friend’s hairdresser’s cousin’s wife who had to wait for a gallbladder operation in Canada. I don’t make decisions about the health care policy of The United States based on Janine; moreover, I don’t believe she exists.
- I encourage you to email me at aaron@mdcarroll.com. I will make every effort to answer as many emails as possible.
- In fact, please send me your questions. Part of the reason I am doing this is so that people can have information about health care reform. I will make every effort to post good questions to the blogs with well-documented answers. The more questions I get, the better this will be.
- I welcome feedback. I have a thick skin, and I do care about what you think, even when I seem not to.
